Frazzled

Hi friends!

It’s been a whirlwind recently. On Friday I wrapped up my summer internship at the Kansas 4-H Youth Development office. It turned out to be a great summer- some great professional experience and pretty fun overall. :)

Friday night I moved out of Amy’s duplex and helped move her into her own apartment across town. I also said goodbye to the Tuna Can, my home of 3 years. I’m not a big crier, but definitely teared up as we drove away for the last time- so many good memories there. I stayed with Amy Friday night at her new place and then hung out with my friends Austin and Rebecca on Saturday----we packed a ton of fun stuff into one epic day! It was a great way to end my time in Manhattan. Driving back to Mac that night was very sad and scary. Scary because that meant it would only be a week and some change before I was really leaving.

That whole weekend was a roller coaster for me. Saturday was so much fun, but I was really sad to be leaving Manhattan. Then I came home and was reunited with my family and church family, which was great. Everyone was really friendly and I was excited because several people said they were reading this blog of mine! Yay!

I read this in my devo a few days ago and found it rather comforting:

Trust me in the depths of your being. it is there that I live in constant communication with you. When you feel flustered and frazzled on the outside, do not get upset with yourself. You are only human, and the swirl of events going on all around you will sometimes feel overwhelming. Rather than scolding yourself for your humanness, remind yourself that I am both with you and within you. I am with you at all times, encouraging and supportive rather than condemning. I know that deep within you, where I live, My peace is your continual experience. Slow down your pace of living for a time. Quiet your mind in My Presence. Then you will be able to hear Me bestowing the resurrection blessing: Peace be with you.

Ahhh. It will be ok. Fortunately, the past few days have been much better. We’ve had lots of fun at the Sents house playing games, eating a lot, and making trips to Wichita for the Lone Ranger, Mini golf, dinner with family, and Mary Poppins!!! Nothin like a few days of family fun before I ship out :)

Only 4 more days left in Kansas- eeeek! Now if only my room would clean itself….

Until next time, keep it real.
Rissy
